Who Are Private Training Walks For?
Every walk is adapted to your dog’s current ability, training goals and emotional
needs.
Depending on the dog, we may work on:
Loose-lead walking and calmer movement
Engagement and focus around distractions
Reactivity and emotional regulation
Recall foundations
Puppy confidence and appropriate socialisation
Settling and calmly observing the world
Impulse control and release cues
Reliable drop and leave behaviours
Scent games and breed-appropriate enrichment
Calm exposure to parks, cafés, town centres and other public spaces
The aim isn’t to push your dog into situations they can’t manage. We’ll work at an
appropriate distance and pace, giving them opportunities to practise without
becoming overwhelmed.
These are the same skills we would practise in private lessons, just built into your
dog’s week for consistency.
How Do Training Walks Work?
I collect your dog from home and either walk locally or drive to a location that best fits their training needs. This could be a park, nature reserve, car park or busier public space depending on where your dog is at. Sessions are usually one hour. Younger dogs and dogs who need a slower pace will have more calm observation and sedentary work. Very young puppies are supported at home instead with games and foundations, which has worked really well in the past.
Training walks are only available to clients who are currently having or have previously had private lessons with me. This keeps training consistent and fair for your dog.

Private Training Walks FAQs
-
No. Each walk is connected to your dog’s existing training plan and includes focused work on agreed skills. The service is designed to support training and behaviour progress rather than provide exercise alone.
-
Potentially, yes. Training walks can support reactive dogs because they’re private and adapted to the dog’s current ability. You’ll need to complete private training or behaviour-support sessions first so I can understand your dog, their triggers and the safest approach.
-
Yes. Walks can help puppies develop confidence, engagement, lead skills and appropriate socialisation. Very young puppies may begin with games and foundation work at home until outdoor sessions are safe and suitable.

Support Your Dog’s Training When Life Gets Busy.
Training progress depends on consistency, but that doesn’t mean you have to manage every session alone. Private training walks give your dog structured, individual support while taking some pressure out of your week. I’ll reinforce the skills we’re already building and make sure each session is appropriate for your dog’s confidence and needs.
