Training walks are private one to one sessions designed to support dogs who need extra help during the week and owners who are short on time.
These walks are ideal if you have a reactive dog who cannot cope with group walks, a puppy who needs structured support, or if you just need a bit of breathing space during busy work days.
Each walk is tailored completely to your dog. Your dog will never be walked with dogs they do not live with. Single dog households walk alone. Multi dog households may alternate dogs or occasionally walk together if it supports their training.
The aim is to help your dog work towards your training goals while taking pressure off you.
We can work on things like
• lead skills and calm walking
• reactivity and emotional regulation
• puppy socialisation and confidence building
• calm exposure to public spaces like parks, coffee shops and town centres
• settling and world watching
Walks are paired with short focused enrichment such as
• scent games
• reliable drops and outs
• release cues and impulse control
• engagement and focus games
These are the same skills we would practise in private lessons, just built into your dog’s week for consistency.
I collect your dog from home and either walk locally or drive to a location that best fits their training needs. This could be a park, nature reserve, car park or busier public space depending on where your dog is at.
Sessions are usually one hour. Younger dogs and dogs who need a slower pace will have more calm observation and sedentary work. Very young puppies are supported at home instead with games and foundations, which has worked really well in the past.
Training walks are only available to clients who are currently having or have previously had private lessons with me. This keeps training consistent and fair for your dog.
